Adopting a rescued horse or donkey from Redwings makes a wonderful Christmas gift, and it's one that you'll feel great giving.

Redwings Horse Sanctuary is responsible for more than 1300 rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and mules at its sanctuary sites across the UK.

Sponsorship of a Redwings resident like beautiful Shire Cross Fox or teeny tiny Shetland Tinkerbell costs from just £2 a month or a £25 one-off donation, and you or your loved one will receive a beautiful welcome pack and photo with an introduction to your new friend, regular email and postal updates about their lives at Redwings and even an invite to their birthday party (yes really!). Children will also receive a free Young and Mini Reds magazine which is packed full of activities and articles all about horses and ponies.

Standing at an impressive 16.3 hands high, stunning Adoption Star Shire cross Fox is a true gentle giant who loves to bend his head over the fence for a cuddle with his visitors.

While Fox now enjoys a peaceful life in his paddock at the charity's Caldecott Visitor Centre, in Norfolk, his future was not always so certain. This handsome gent arrived at Redwings in 2010 as part of a large group of horses when he was just a few months old. Their owner had sadly passed away and no one was able to look after them.

Fox has a condition which means he experiences stiffness in his legs so his chances of finding a new home to suit his needs were slim. However, he now has a permanent home at the Sanctuary under the watchful eye of Redwings' vet team.

From just £2 per month, you can sponsor Fox and ensure he and his four-legged friends continue to enjoy happy and healthy lives at Redwings.

A fantastic family day out

Redwings has five visitor centres around the UK where you or your lucky recipient can visit your new adoption star friend free of charge.

In Norfolk, Redwings Aylsham and Redwings Caldecott (near Great Yarmouth) are open every weekend, Friday to Monday, from 10am until 4pm, all year round.

Meet adorable rescued horses and donkeys, take a peaceful paddock walk, and treat yourself to a delicious slice of cake in the café. Before you leave, be sure to browse the gift shop - every purchase helps care for the charity's residents. Well-behaved dogs on leads are more than welcome too!

Entry is free but, as a registered charity, donations are always appreciated.
