ABOUT US

For more than 20 years, Rescue and Animal Care has been telling the stories of the animals, carers, and rescues who need it most. What began as one person's determination to give rescue animals a voice, and to make sure their carers never felt alone, has grown into a magazine trusted by thousands of readers who care, adopt, foster, and volunteer.
Rescue and Animal Care began with a newspaper story our publisher, Jennifer Prowse, couldn't shake - a dog, thrown out of a moving van on a dual carriageway, abandoned simply because its owner decided it was too much to handle.
That story led Jennifer into the heart-breaking world of unwanted and badly treated animals, and into the extraordinary work done by pet charities and rescue centres up and down the country. What she found convinced her these organisations needed more than sympathy. They needed a platform. So she created one: a magazine offering rescue centres a free window to feature the animals waiting for new homes.
More than 20 years on, that mission hasn't changed. Every issue brings together rescue stories, adoption journeys, expert advice on animal care and welfare, and updates from the charities and shelters doing the work on the ground.
Who we're for
Our readers are animal lovers, rescue volunteers, adopters, and anyone invested in the welfare of the animals around them. We also work with rescues, charities, and businesses in the animal care space who want to reach that community - through features, partnerships, and advertising.
